see you later mr. fig

mr. figueroa is the first in the increasingly long line of humans around me who have been leaving their physical bodies behind over the past few months whose life wasn't cut short.  he was 98 1/2 when he took off.

i was lucky enough to visit with him just a couple of weeks ago. he was vibrant.  figgy's face beamed while he sat with us as jane and tom and rachelle talked about old times and old houses and old neightborhoods and old neighbors. and he smiled and said it was "fabulous" how much they could remember.

and then he stopped eating,

and then he left us.
